I enjoy art in all forms - my main interests are Watercolor, Scherenschnitte (paper cutting), and Pen & Ink Drawing. I also write and illustrate books.
I live in Anchorage, Alaska so much of my art reflects the Alaskan wilderness.

Yesterday was my birthday but we celebrated on Sunday since I had to work yesterday. After church in the morning, my husband took me to an antique mall and let me shop for a few hours for something special. I chose this handmade Eskimo doll. I don't believe she's an antique but she is unique. Her parka and boots are made of seal, her ruff appears to be ermine, the trim on the parka is rabbit (or snowshoe hare?) and her boots are topped with beaver. I know wearing fur is offensive to some of you, but this is authentic for clothing made by native Alaskans. I don't collect dolls, but I do collect native and uniquely Alaskan things.
After our shopping excursion we went to dinner with our son and daughter-in-law. I don't mind getting older, in fact, I'm looking at it as one step closer to retirement!
PS - I was working in the nursery on Sunday, so absolutely no time for sketching!
